The luggage store/509 Cultural Center is a non profit organization, founded in 1987. We received our non profit status in November 1989. We are one of San Francisco’s premier non profit multidisciplinary arts organizations. Our gallery exhibitions, performing arts, public art and educational programs are dedicated to cultural equity and broadening social and aesthetic networks. Our programming is designed  to encourage  the flow of images and ideas between different cultural, ethnic  and economic communities.
